Terri
This blog is a great idea. I look forward to reading it. At its best it could become a large running conversation between likeminded (so to speak) people. Joel I love your site, Terry, and I plan on getting on your coach referral service, but I want to get my data ready before so I don't pay for a subscription and then wait three months' to post it!
As you know by now since I copied you, I recommended your site today to my student clients/ and parents. I think your site is wonderful, as you are. I look forward to cracking you up again at ADDA this year. We must plan on sitting together during all boring presentations and ceremonies. It was too deadly boring for me otherwise. Best, GlenQ Last week I invited Brenda Cherry from the Jane Pauley show with Dr. Hallowell to speak with an adult women's ADD support group in the metro Atlanta area. She was generous with her time, and together we watched the show, stopping for her comments on either her personal history or the way things work in TV land.
That evening, she was honest and funny and a great speaker, especially since this was the first time she had spoken in a private/public context. She said Dr. Hallowell was a kind and considerate man, and that since HE has diagnosed her, she is finally willing to accept her ADD. One of our group's women said that watching the program that night changed her world - she was living through the 'ah'ha' moment and it was beautiful to be with her as the blinders came off her eyes. She said, 'I'll never be the same!' Brenda and the other Jane Pauley guests made it possible for people across the country to start asking, 'maybe that's what I have too', and believe it's a good thing. She was able to laugh with us in person, and be tender with the newly self-diagnosed woman among us, and it was a good evening. Maureen |
