I give people control of their lives. We begin with the realization that disorganization is simply a problem to be solved, not a character flaw--an assertion that is the opposite of what most clients have been told all their lives--and we work together to clear out cluttered spaces, piles of paperwork, and unmanageable schedules. As we chip away at the backlog, a few hours at a time in the client's home or office, I teach organizing theories and skills, and the client begins to slowly integrate them into his or her life. Working side by side allows clients a "safety net" for organizing decisions and forces them to focus on tasks that are otherwise so easy to never "get around to." As we continue to work together, better habits take root and clients begin to live more organized lives. My ultimate objective is to teach my clients to no longer need me. :)

We evaluate learning disabilities, attention deficit disorders, OCD, anxiety , nonverbal learning disabilities, Aspergers and all high-functiioning ASD.
Having been in Boca Raton for 26 years, and a FAU adjunct, we have a relationship with most area public and private schools. We facilitate placement via helping with decisions about specific schools and use of IEP/504 or other accommodations. This extends from elementary school to college.
The evaluation is customized to the problems presented, meaning we do not use a "one size fits all" evaluation process. I will thoroughly understand the child's personal and academic faults and strengths PLUS the parent's need to change their approach. The latter means that if your child is overindulged or underdisciplined, I will tell you and recommend alternative methods

I meet personally with parents to review test results and discuss treatment plans (called the gameplan), in a no-nonsense straight-talk manner. We also connect with area doctors and utilize a team approach. Therapy and school advocacy are recomended only if appropriate. The latter means I will go to the school to fight for your child's needs.

You are looking for the best possible assessment and treatment for yourself, your child, your marriage or your family. The success of psychological assessment and treatment is an outgrowth of the relationship with your therapist. Because I will be a vital part of the growth for you and your family, I want you to understand how my 30+ years of experience have shaped my approach to treatment.

My work with others has taught me that change is possible at any age. However, research shows that early identification and intervention is the ideal and I am passionate about early identification of ADHD, LD and other childhood conditions. Early intervention is the best preventative for later associated conditions of these complicated disorders. When working with children, I use a team approach that involves the child, parents, teachers and other health care professionals in developing and implementing plans for change.

The key to change for adults is appreciating that our brains enjoy neuroplasticity that lets us change at any stage of life. In my experience, adults grow by understanding the early programs and patterns that have been laid down in their brains. As these early connections are identified, you will begin to appreciate how the brain functions and how to establish new pathways that enable you to change your perceptions and actions. As you understand these connections, you will be able to choose to change from the inside out.

As your therapist, I will help you to practice and experience new ways of thinking and being in relationship. The technical term for this approach is Neuro-Cognitive. In the Neuro-Cognitive approach, the connection between mental health, physical health and spiritual health will become evident as you learn how your current thinking and feeling are interwoven.

The result is a more integrated sense of self. In the course of treatment, you may be asked to complete homework in order to practice new ways of thinking and behaving. You may be asked to read different materials to expand your understanding of how your mind works and how relationships function.

I work primarily with adults with ADHD who want to function at a higher level. I integrate something called "Gremlin-Taming" into my work which is a method for quieting the monster of the mind and keeping at bay the inner noise that so often accompanies ADHD.

I wrote the chapter on "ADD Coaching" in the book "Healing ADD" by Daniel Amen, MD. That chapter has a full description of my work with a client from start to finish. It gives a good picture of the process of coaching when you work with me.

In addition to my private coaching practice, I mentor new coaches, teach workshops and teleclasses and am the Director of The Gremlin Taming Institute in Dallas, Texas.

Problems in our lives often occur despite our best efforts to avoid them. When they happen, we can find ourselves -- and our valued relationships -- overwhelmed. Yet men and women who effectively access their endowed internal resources while using situationally-appropriate interpersonal skills are better able to have empowered, informed and healthy lives.

I work extensively with achievement-oriented men and women who have found themselves experiencing repetitive failure patterns in their love or work relationships. Through a highly individualized interactive process, I team with individuals and/or couples to help them work toward overcoming those patterns and move into a greater measure of personal wellness and interpersonal success.

My professional interest focuses upon well-being and personal empowerment, sexuality and money -- as measured personally in one's most intimate and cherished relationship, and as experienced in important business relationships. Licensed to practice privately as a Marriage and Family Therapist, I hold a Ph.D. in Psychology with a health psychology specialization, a M.A. in Counseling Psychology, a M.Div. in Pastoral Ministry, and a Certificate of Professional Studies in Clinical Psychophysiology. I am available for consultation on an appointment basis, and welcome your call or email.

As a former Emergency Physician I take a global approach to patient care. Since ADD often has biological, behavioral, and psychological dimensions, I use both medications and Psychotherapy. While many of my patients are on stimulants such as Adderall and Concerta, I use many other pharmacologic agents, depending on the situation. The skills work focuses on day-to-day problems such as focus, procrastination, and task completion. I specialize in higher functioning adults.

My goal is to enable parents, teachers and individuals with AD/HD to identify and build on their unique strengths. I believe this solid foundation enables them to become the architects of their dreams while successfully meeting their challenges.

My background as a classroom teacher, reading specialist, professional counselor, parenting instructor, children's grief specialist, and homeschooling mom to my ADHD child gives me a broad range of training and experience on which to draw when working with families, educators and individuals with ADD. I focus on helping individuals develop a healthy sense of self by supporting an understanding of how ADD impacts their lives and on developing and implementing appropriate strategies to help them achieve their goals.

Coaching by phone or email is done by applying behavior modification so that goals can be reached and daily struggles can be addressed in a systematic order. Organizing includes setting up systems for the client's particular and individual needs with training to keep the system going by applying behavior modification to what they are currently doing. This applies to general organizing and filing. Speaking events can be locally, nationally or internationally and can address issues of organizing in home or office and different methods to handle paper, time and stuff.

I work with children and adults with ADHD,ODD, LD, Dyslexia and ASperger's. I follow CHADD's 2 tier diagnostic protocol. I do onsite observations, computer tests and several different assessments to make an accurate diagnosis. I also offer coaching, groups, as well as individual and family counseling. I do not believe finances should ever be a problem in assisting someone to reach their full potential. Something can always be worked out. Just make the first step and call.

Since I was Diagnosed ADD 15 years, I have gradually incorporated my experience and beliefs in Adult ADD, Anxiety /Ocd /and depression in treating my patients. I write twice the amount of Adderall than anyone in Pennsylvania , and I do it not only for the mental health aspect, but more for people's physical health.

People are much better regarding their Diabetes; their Blood pressure;their Obesity; their Fibromyalgia just to name a few. They are able to actually focus on their diets; cut down on their procrastination and start exercising; and significantly help decrease their impulsiveness , which helps modify and/or eliminates their addictions, such as smoking; overeating; alcohol abuse;their illegal and legal drug abuse, just to name a few.

I tell my patients that I have a theory about obesity-most overweight people eat Addish or are ADD-we eat impatiently; impulsilvely and out of boredom.Same with cigarettes.

Unfortunately, the medical world rather treats people's symptoms of stress-hypertension/diabetes/obesity/back pain( which most of time is fibromyagia)/to name a few , since it is easier than diagnosing dysfunctions, less time consuming ,and , quite honestly, more lucrative.

I still treat all the physical disorders, and, generally the patients lab work;their health and their mental status are significantly improved once their treated for their Adult ADD.

There are now multiple studies indicating that stress impacts on peoples physical health negatively, especially heart attacks.

Psychotherapy or coaching for ADHD adults.

I specialise in working with high functioning, gifted and creative individuals (with or without ADHD). These include musicians, artists and writers who often find themselves getting blocked or feel they have lost the inspiration needed to create.

My background is very broad and includes having worked within merchant banks, advertising, IT, event management, marketing and PR.

For coaching, my style is very much geared towards having a totally positive and forward thinking, structured and yet flexible approach.

For psychotherapy, I do not adhere to any particular psychotherapeutic exactitude as I believe all my clients are unique individuals. Having worked for a number of years in primary care, I am used to working in a more focused way which tends to require fewer sessions.

I have a number of techniques that we can agree to use which include EMDR and hypnotherapy.

Whether practising coaching or psychotherapy, I always feel it a privilege to share in my clients' lives and I treat the information shared with the utmost respect it deserves and observe the strictest levels of confidentiality, at all times.

I am a qualified supervisor of counselling, hypnoptherapy and psychotherapeutic practice, including those within the primary care environment.
