About This Expert: My name is Kate Kelly and I am an ADD adult. Yes, I am an expert in the field of adult ADD. I have specialized as an ADD coach/therapist since 1990, and am the co-author of two ADDult books - You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?!, and The ADDed Dimension. I can't deny that I have learned a great deal from writing books, giving workshops on ADD and working with my clients. The most challenging and rewarding lessons, however, came from dealing with the impact of ADD in my own life. I know ADD from the inside out - and from both sides of the fence. I have also experienced the challenges of raising an ADD child. My daughter Tyrell is now 21 and a college student with an excellent GPA. No small feat, given the years of struggle in elementary and high school....whew! we made it. Currently I live in Cincinnati with my life partner, Paul, and our two cats...Luna and Helios. Oh yes, don't want to forget the resume. I have a masters degree in mental health nursing from the University of Cincinnati and am certified as a clinical specialist in psychiatric nursing. In the course of my career I have been a staff nurse, nurse/therapist, clinical coordinator for psychobiological research, and assistant professor of psychiatric nursing. I also co-owned a small publishing business (one title) which was created to launch You Mean I'm Not Lazy, Stupid or Crazy?! I completed ADD coach training at The Optimal Functioning Institute and was president of that organization for several years.
