About This Expert:
Louise Hartmann first started working with children and families in crisis in 1978 when she became Program Director of the New England Salem Children's Village in Rumney, New Hampshire. During her five-year tenure, she supervised and trained house parents and child-care staff, worked with therapists and teachers, and developed and implemented treatment plans for the children living at Salem. In the years since that time, she was the Chief Executive Officer of two multi-million-dollar corporations in Atlanta (International
Wholesale Travel and The Newsletter Factory), and lived for a year at a Salem Children's Village in Germany. The wife of 28 years to author and psychotherapist Thom Hartmann, she is also the mother of their three children. For more than twenty years she has individually coached clients ranging from corporate CEOs to parents of troubled or ADHD children and couples.
